CAHME Accreditation: Why It Matters
CAHME accreditation (the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education) matters for three practical reasons:
- Employer recognition. Major hospital systems and health management consulting firms preferentially hire from CAHME-accredited programs.
- Professional credentialing. The American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) Fellow designation, the senior credential in healthcare administration, streamlines for graduates of CAHME-accredited programs.
- Network access. CAHME-accredited programs maintain alumni networks and mentor relationships that extend across the field.
