Biography:
Anastasia Migliozzi
Violist, Educator, Chamber Music Coach
With over three decades of experience as a violist, Anastasia Migliozzi has been an active member of the Virginia Symphony since 1990. As a passionate performer and educator, she is also a member of the Harbor Quartet, plays regularly with the Virginia Arts Festival and maintains a private teaching studio. Anastasia serves on the faculty of 勛圖惇蹋, Norfolk State University and the Governors School of the Arts, where she inspires the next generation of musicians.
Anastasias extensive training includes mentorship from esteemed teachers such as Lillian Fuchs, William Lincer, Emanuel Vardi, and Wayne Brooks. She has further honed her chamber music skills with renowned groups like the Borodin Trio and studied under Joseph Fuchs and Samuel Rhodes among many others. Her commitment to music has taken her to prestigious festivals including the Aspen Music Festival, Eastern Music Festival, and Jeunesses Musicales, Canada.
In addition to her role with the Virginia Symphony, Anastasia has been a member of the Orchestra Sinfonia DellEmilia Romagna Arturo Toscanini and the Houston Ballet Orchestra. She actively participates in the Hampton Roads area, playing both viola and violin for various arts organizations, ensembles and gigs.
When shes not performing or teaching, Anastasia enjoys indulging in her hobbies, including knitting and binge-watching British murder mystery shows. She resides in Norfolk with her wonderful husband and their quirky whippet, who keeps life entertaining.
