• Why I chose this program: I felt like this was the place where I would truly feel supported and trained to become the EM physician I aspire to be. As an EVMS student, I spent a lot of time in the ED here and thoroughly enjoyed it. The faculty are amazing. The residents are happy. EVMS provides plenty of ultrasound experience which was one of my priorities. I enjoyed the past 4 years in Norfolk and look forward to 3 more!

• Why I chose this program: Most of my interviews were virtual and EVMS has the best interview vibes by far. Everyone seemed really happy and confident in their abilities and I could tell the residents I spoke with genuinely loved the program. Additionally, I wanted to train at a Level 1 trauma center with a diverse training environment and EVMS checked all the boxes!

Why I chose this program: The faculty and fellow interns make it an excellent learning environment. I love how hands on my learning experience as a medical student was and I know I will get the highest caliber of training here. I have been fortunate to work with the EM team on many different projects, and I was confident that we would continue the same work during residency!

• Why I chose this program: As a local to the Hampton Roads area, Norfolk in particular, I was thrilled to have the opportunity to give back to the community that raised me while training to be an Emergency Medicine physician. Emergency Medicine affords the opportunity and skillset to serve a wide range of individuals with a wide variety of problems and I love that I'll be able to offer that service to a community that matters so much to me! EVMS has a fantastic group of residents and faculty who obviously care about wellness and academics in equal measure- I am so excited to have found such a wonderful group of people to share my years in residency with.

• Why I chose this program: The combination of academic and community medicine in a beautiful location with great faculty mentors. I had a great impression during my interview and was excited about the opportunity for longitudinal SIM and EMS with a heavy ultrasound training focus. I was also in the couples match and my partner was equally excited about the opportunity to train at this institution in her respective program.
